We aim to dispatch all orders placed before 10am the same working day.
That means if you place your order at 9am on Tuesday, you should be painting on Wednesday.
After the 10am cut-off, your paint will be mixed, dispatched and with you within 2 working days. -
Postage for all of our products are built into the price. No Surprises.
-
Currently, you can only buy our paint right here, through our website.
-
At the moment we only ship to UK Mainland, but we hope we can change this fairly soon. Keep an eye out on our socials for updates!
-
We currently do not offer tracking information for Sample Card orders.
For all paint orders, we’ll send you an email with your tracking number once our courier partner has collected the goods from us. If you’re having trouble with your order tracking, get in touch and we’ll get it sorted. -
If you’re quick! We manage all of our orders in-house, so if you accidentally gave us your ex’s address or you saw Disco Pink for the first time, got flustered and ordered 7 samples, just drop us a line (the sooner the better) and we’ll help you amend your order.
We are however unable to amend orders that have already been dispatched. -
We have a handy Paint Calculator for that. If you’re still not sure though, feel free to get in touch and we can crunch the numbers for you.
-
As each tin of Pickleson is mixed to order, we are unable to accept returns unless there is a problem with the product.
We’re not unreasonable though… If you’re unhappy with your order for whatever reason, get in touch and we’ll do all we can to help. -
We don’t, and we’ll tell you for why… We find them a nuisance. They’re messy, expensive and wasteful.
Instead, we offer hand-painted Sample Cards, which give you as good a shade reference as the paint itself, can be moved around a recycled once finished with. -
Because our range is constantly growing, to avoid waste we don’t offer shade cards at this stage. This may well come in the future, though; so keep an eye out on our socials for updates!

Occasionally. We’re a small business and need to keep our margins healthy enough to be sustainable. As a result, we generally only offer discounts to charitable causes.
We will also offer discounts to anyone who snaps a picture of their Pickleson project, that we use on our website or Insta Feed.
If you have a project that you think we’d be interested in providing discounted or gifted paint for, get in touch. -
We’re a team of two and we handle everything ourselves. This includes all Press, PR, Marketing and Collaboration opportunities. We also do not pay for press, so opportunities to feature in campaigns, publications and experiences of all kinds are most welcome! If you have an opportunity you’d like to discuss, drop us an email and either Alex or Rachael will be in touch as soon as reasonably possible.

Yes and No! Our Chalky Matt and Just Matt finishes are designed to be used inside only. However, our Eggshell and Gloss finishes are hard-wearing enough to be used externally. If you need specific advice on what surfaces Pickleson can be used on, get in touch and we’d be happy to help.
-
Generally, no. Pickleson is considered self-priming, so it should work beautifully on a vast majority of pre-painted surfaces without the need for a primer.
However, if you’re planning on painting bare metal, unstable or glossy surfaces, new plaster or unpainted trim, you may need to apply a mist coat or primer first. If in doubt, get in touch and we’d be happy to provide you with assistance based on your specific requirements.

If stored correctly, i.e. in a cool, dark place and properly sealed, your paint should last for around a year after opening. If it remains sealed, it’ll last even longer, so you can get to that paint job when you finally get the time, whenever that may be. Just be sure to give it a good shake before opening.
-
Yes. Our products have no animal products in them, nor do we or our suppliers test on animals.
-
Absolutely. Our paints are water-based, low in VOCs, virtually odour free without the use of toxic masking agents and exceed all necessary standards for air quality, making it perfectly safe for bambinos to enjoy spaces adorned with Pickleson.
-
Currently, no. We are lovers of colour and believe ourselves to be experts in our own right. We do not however have the necessary qualifications to offer full colour consultations.
If you were to ask us, we’d likely say “choose the colours that make you happy“ but we’re aware that isn’t all that helpful.
Colour Consultations are something we will consider offering in the future though, so keep your eyes on our socials or sign-up to our Newsletter updates. -
Currently, no. We’re primarily set up as a Direct to Consumer brand; as such we don’t currently offer a Trade Platform.
However, if you’re an Interior Designer, Studio or are working on a commercial project and would like to discuss it in more detail, please feel free to get in touch. -
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are gases released from certain solids or liquids, including paint, that can negatively affect indoor air quality. They’re traditionally used to stabilize and preserve paint, but they come with a cost to the air we breathe.
All Pickleson paints are Low-VOC, meaning they contain as little as is technically possible while still delivering exceptional quality. This ensures your indoor air quality isn’t compromised, so you can enjoy your freshly painted space sooner, without worrying about what’s lingering in the air.

We’re glad you asked! It’s one of our favourite parts of the job…
It all started when we set up the business and had just a handful of shades. Alex’s mum insisted that she had a way with words and would be our official colour namer. She looked at the red sample card on the table and exclaimed, bold as brass… ‘Jalapeño Red!’. Not realising that Jalapeños are, in fact, green.
From that moment forth, we agreed to name all of our shades something just a little bit off. Throw in some names of sentimental value, a few 70s innuendos and you’ve got the range you see today.
*Alex’s mother would like to state - on record - that she did not come up with the name ‘Pissy Yellow’. -
We don’t like it.
